Fullerton Arboretum

The Fullerton Arboretum is the largest botanical garden in Orange County. It serves as a learning place for agricultural history saves and specialized in plant species that are near extinction. The Arboretum trails, located inside the arboretum’s grounds, host over 4,000 plants and navigate through four different major collections: Cultivated, Woodlands, Mediterranean and Desert.
Trivia: The Fullerton Arboretum is home to a carrion flower, the world’s largest flower head. This unique species of flower only blooms every seven years and is known for its strong smelly odor, usually described as smelling of “rotting meat.”

Hillcrest Park

Visit Their Website
Centrally located in the city of Fullerton, Hillcrest Park offers visitors scenic views, shade trees, playgrounds, large picnic areas and outdoor entertainment rental opportunities.
Trivia: This park is home to the meeting site of the Izaak Walton League, known as one of the oldest conservation organizations in the United States.

Laguna Lake Park

Located in Fullerton, this great park is guaranteed to please everyone with their recreational trails, fishing, picnic areas, biking, horseback riding and more.
Trivia: Laguna Lake is stocked by the California Department of Fish and Game, thus making it an excellent place to fish away the afternoon. (A fishing license is required at all times for ages 16 and over.)

Santa Ana River Bike Trail & Parkway

Known as the Santa Ana River region’s longest recreational trail and parkway, this 110-mile trail and bikeway corridor reaches from Big Bear Lake in the San Bernadino Mountains to the mouth of the Santa Ana River at the Pacific Ocean. The trail offers a great mixture of urban and natural landscapes.
Trivia: Voted 2012’s “Best Bike Trail” by the Orange County Register. Another fun fact: The Santa Ana River has some of the densest populations of the Least Bell’s Vireo, an endangered songbird.

The Fullerton Loop Bike Trail

The Fullerton Loop is a popular Orange County trail perfect for mountain biking or hiking. The trail is approximately 12 miles long and takes the rider on a scenic tour of Fullerton. Utilizing a number of different trails, greenways and unmarked sections of single track the trail offers variety in both scenery and difficulty.
